WASHINGTON — Maryland State Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying an unknown suspect who opened fire on a vehicle on I-270 Friday in an apparent road rage incident.
According to police, a driver told troopers they were headed northbound on I-270 south of Montgomery Village around 10:40 p.m. Friday when an unknown suspect driving a newer-model green pickup truck advised them to pull over.
The driver said they refused, at which point, the unknown suspect fired a shot into their vehicle. No injuries were reported.
Police did not provide a description of the suspect or images of the suspect vehicle.

Maryland State Police have investigated a number of firearms-related road rage incidents recently. In September, a Virginia man, Joshua Cook, was arrested and charge for allegedly pointing a gun at another driver near I-95 and Route 1 in Prince George’s County. That same month, a 37-year-old Upper Marlboro woman, Brittany Erin Cousar, was also charged with pointing a gun at another driver in Prince George’s County. Police also said Cousar attempted to destroy evidence by smashing her phone during an interview with officers.
