PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, Md. — A 37-year-old woman has been arrested for a road rage incident in Prince George's County last week.

Maryland State Police believe Brittany Erin Cousar, from Upper Marlboro, pointed a gun at a driver on Sept. 11. She has been charged with two counts of first-degree felony assault and misdemeanor assault and gun charges.

Troopers were called to a road rage incident involving a white BMW SUV. The driver, later identified as Cousar, reportedly pointed a gun at another driver near Route 5 and Surratts Road. A child was in the victim's car at the time, police said.

Investigators found the wanted SUV later that day at Cousar's house. Two loaded handguns were found inside, and seized.

During a police interview, police say Cousar attempted to destroy evidence by smashing her cellphone. She was arrested and taken to the Forestville Barrack for processing.

Cousar was granted home detention after being held without bond.
