DISTRICT HEIGHTS, Md. — Police are asking anyone with more information on a triple shooting in District Heights to step forward after a 14-year-old girl died from her injuries.
The teen has been identified as Khamya Ferrell of Suitland. Two other adults were also injured in the shooting.
Prince George's County Police are offering a cash reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in the case.
On May 31, just before 2 p.m., officers responded to a shooting on Atwood Street. Ferrell and a woman were found shot inside an apartment there. A man was also shot. He was found outside. All three victims were taken to an area hospital for help after the shooting.
Five days later, on June 5, Ferrell was pronounced dead from her injuries.
Detectives are still working to identify a suspect and motive in the triple shooting. Investigators do not believe Ferrell was shot on purpose or targeted.
