WASHINGTON — DC Police are searching for two suspects who allegedly robbed a Northwest business at gunpoint on Wednesday. During the robbery, one of the suspects shot and killed a victim.
At 2:57 p.m., detectives say the two suspects took out guns and walked into a business in the 5100 block of Georgia Avenue, Northwest. The suspects demanded property and money, to which the victims complied. During the robbery, one suspect shot one of the victims. The suspects then took the property and money then fled the scene. The shooting victim was taken to an area hospital for treatment of serious injuries afterward and later died.
The victim in this shooting has been identified as 41-year-old Philip Prendergast, of Silver Spring, MD.

Anyone who can identify these suspects or who has knowledge of this incident should take no action but call the police at (202) 727-9099 or text your tip to the Department's text tip line at 50411. The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $10,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for a violent crime committed in the District of Columbia.
