DUMFRIES, Va. — A Virginia man is recovering after being shot in a restaurant parking lot.
On Thursday, officers responded to reports of a shooting at La Caverna Bar and Grill in Dumfries, Virginia. They arrived just before midnight, but by that time everyone involved had left the scene, they said.
A preliminary investigation found that the 29-year-old man who was shot got into an argument with a group of men in the parking lot. The argument escalated and one of the men took out a gun and shot the 29-year-old man.
The man took himself to a nearby hospital, where staff determined his injuries were non-life threatening.
He explained to the medical staff the events leading up to the shooting, and the staff contacted the police. Once they arrived, the victim gave a statement and a vague description of the shooter.
