WASHINGTON — Police are investigating a shooting in Southeast D.C. on Thursday that sent a woman to an area hospital for treatment.
At 5:45 p.m., a call regarding a shooting in the area of 33rd Street and Pennsylvania Avenue came into the Metropolitan Police Department.
When officers arrived, they found a woman suffering from a gunshot wound. She was discovered in the 4300 block of Gorman Terrace in Southeast, but police believe the actual shooting took place at 33rd and Pennsylvania Avenue, SE.
Police say the woman was rushed to an area hospital for treatment of her injuries as a result of the shooting. She was conscious and breathing at the time.
Currently, her condition remains unknown. Investigators have not said if she is expected to survive.
