WASHINGTON — DC Police are investigating after two people were shot early Monday morning. Police say both people were taken to the hospital in stable condition.
According to the Metropolitan Police Department, officers were called to the 600 block of 24th Street Northeast around 1:45 a.m. That's near RFK Stadium. Once on scene, the officers found a man and woman shot. Police told WUSA9 that both the man and the woman were conscious and breathing when they were taken to the hospital.
Investigators were on scene early Monday, gathering evidence and looking for any surveillance video of the shooting. So far, no arrests have been made.
A nearby surveillance camera captured the suspect car in the photos below:
Police have not yet given a description of the person they are looking for.
Anyone who may have additional information for investigators is asked to call MPD at 202-727-9099, or text the department's tip line at 50411.
This is the latest shooting in what was a violent weekend in the District. On Sunday, four people were shot along Minnesota Avenue in Southeast D.C. Later that night, around 11:30 p.m., officers responded to a deadly shooting on Underwood Street Northwest. Homicide detectives are searching for a dark-colored Infinti with two people inside in that case.
