WASHINGTON — Metro Transit Police have arrested two men who allegedly choked and robbed a passenger on board a Metrobus.
On Monday MTPD tweeted out the arrest of the two 29-year-old suspects, Clinton Gatlin and Carloz Clark just before 3:15 p.m. Officials say both suspects were spotted on Sunday.
MTPD says the suspects and the victim were on the B2 bus traveling along the 1600 block of Minnesota Avenue, S.E. around 11:30 a.m. Saturday. The two choked the victim and robbed them, resulting in the victim having a medical event, according to police.
During the arrest, police found a machete in Gatlin's possession. Both men are being charged with strangulation and robbery. Gatlin is also facing possession of a prohibited weapon and drug possession charges.
Police have not specified if the victim was taken to a hospital or their current condition.
