Police release video of suspect in Columbia Mall shooting that left teen dead

Police say the shooter appears to specifically target the victim, 17-year-old Angelo Little.

COLUMBIA, Md. — After combing through hours of footage from the Columbia Mall's camera system, police say they now have images of a suspect involved in a deadly food court shooting

The suspect is accused of shooting and killing 17-year-old Angelo Little in a targeted attack.

Police released those images to the public on Monday in hopes of having help identifying and locating the suspect.

Investigators say the shooter was wearing a dark mask over his face and a hooded sweatshirt over his head, so initial photos showed no distinguishing features. But a further review of the surveillance footage shows some video may be useful.

Through the video review, police believe the shooter targeted Little specifically. The suspect is seen at a table in the food court with his head down until Little walks toward the bathroom hallway. This is when the shooter got up from the table and follows Little. Police say the shooter can be seen waiting for Little to get out of the bathroom and then he fires one shot from behind, killing Little, before running through a back door.

Little was pronounced dead at the scene. Officers discovered a gun on him. Investigators determined that Little was also the victim in a shooting in April 2023 in which he was injured.

Police are asking anyone who lives around the area of the mall to check their doorbell camera footage from July 27 to determine if there are images that could help in the investigation. The shooting occurred around 6:10 p.m.

Police are offering an increased reward of up to $7,500. Anyone with information should contact police at 410-313-STOP or HCPDCrimeTips@howardcountymd.gov and may remain anonymous.
