Police released the name of the Columbia Mall shooting victim

Howard County Police determined a male minor died Saturday in the shooting. Authorities are still searching for the suspect.

HOWARD COUNTY, Md. — The Howard County Police Department released a statement Sunday saying they have identified the victim of the Columbia Mall shooting that occurred Saturday.

Authorities declared that Angelo Little, 17, of Columbia, was shot in the food court of the shopping center.

The statement clarified that Howard County Police members received a call for gunfire shots in the mentioned area around 6:10 p.m.

On the scene, police located a 'male subject deceased' and started the investigation. Howard County Police emphasized that they believe the victim was targeted. 

Preliminary results stipulate that the suspect fled the mall after the shooting.

Following the incident, Howard County Police evacuated people out of the mall in an orderly fashion, and the shopping center was cleared by 9:00 p.m.

As this investigation unfolds, Howard County Police are receiving information and tips and are offering a reward of up to $5,000.
