WOODBRIDGE, Va. — Police are searching for a man accused of assaulting a woman inside an apartment in Woodbridge and refusing to let her leave.
Arrest warrants are out for Quamel Thomson, 26, of Woodbridge, and attempts by police to locate him have so far been unsuccessful.
Overnight Thursday, just before 3 a.m., officers responded to investigate the assault that occurred at the Longview Apartments on Lynn Street in Woodbridge. Police learned that a 24-year-old woman and Thomson were involved in an argument that escalated. While the two were inside the apartment, Thomson allegedly threw the woman to the ground and struck her before grabbing her neck and preventing her from leaving the apartment. Both Thomson and the woman eventually separated, and minor injuries were reported.
Following an investigation, arrest warrants were put out for Thomson.
He is wanted for strangulation, abduction, and assault.
Anyone with information on his whereabout is asked to call police immediately.
