WASHINGTON — Police are asking for the public's help identifying two people involved in an armed carjacking that happened in Southwest D.C. Saturday afternoon.
The victim reported to the Metropolitan Police Department around 3:40 p.m. that they were in their car on 4th Street Southwest, not far from G Street Southwest, when multiple people approached them. One of them showed a gun and demanded the victim get out of the car and give up their keys. They complied and the carjackers drove off with the stolen car.
Two of the people wanted for the crime were caught on nearby surveillance cameras. Police have released their images and are asking for the public's help to catch them.
Anyone who can identify these suspects or who has knowledge of this carjacking should take no action but call police at (202) 727-9099 or text your tip to the Department's text tip line at 50411. The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $10,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for a violent crime committed in the District of Columbia.
