Man killed in shooting in Southeast, found dead in a car from a multi-vehicle crash

Prince George’s County Police responded to a multi-vehicle crash moments later. This is where police found Demetrius Creek unconscious, suffering from a gunshot.

WASHINGTON — Police are investigating a shooting that claimed the life of a 19-year-old in Southeast.

On Saturday, D.C. police were called to the 1400 block of Howard Road for reports of a shooting just after 9:30 p.m. When officers arrived they found evidence of a shooting, but didn’t find a victim.

Prince George’s County Police responded to a multi-vehicle crash in the 2400 block of Southern Avenue, Southeast, moments later. This is where police found Demetrius Creek unconscious and unresponsive, suffering from a gunshot wound. It is unclear if he was the driver or the cause of the car accident.

Medical officials pronounced Creek dead at the scene. Officers later confirmed that Creek was the victim of the shooting they were called to along Howard Road earlier Saturday evening.

Police are asking anyone with information regarding the shooting to call police at 202-727-9099. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered to anyone with information that leads to an arrest and conviction.
