Police arrest man accused of killing man and injuring child in Potomac High School shooting

Dajuon Meniefield was charged with killing 33-year-old Christopher Mozee on June 15.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, Md. — A 29-year-old man is facing murder charges in connection to a shooting at a youth football game in Oxon Hill Saturday.

Dajuon Meniefield was arrested Thursday and charged with first and second-degree murder in the death of Christopher Moze, 33.

Officers responded to Potomac High School at 11:20 a.m. Saturday for reports of a shooting. When they arrived, they found Mozee in the bleachers suffering from gunshot wounds. First responders took Mozee to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

A second victim, a child, was also hit during the shooting. The child suffered non-life threatening injuries and is expected to survive.

Police believe that Meniefield and Mozee knew each other and say the shooting stemmed from an argument.
