UPPER MARLBORO, Md. — Police are investigating a death in Upper Marlboro after a man told officers he ran down a person with his car after they tried to rob him.
On Friday, officers responded to a gas station on Crain Highway. Once there, officers spoke with a man who said he was the victim of an attempted armed robbery outside a home on Tiberias Drive.
During the alleged attempted armed robbery, the man told officers he struck one of the suspects with his car before driving to a gas station to call 911. The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene after getting hit by the car.
Detectives are investigating the armed robbery and crash.
