WASHINGTON — A man has been charged in connection to a shooting that left a 5-year-old girl and her father injured in Fort Totten.
On Wednesday, Alante Partlow, 29, was charged with one count of assault with intent to kill while armed for firing at the man and a second count for firing at the child while attempting to shoot the man. He was also charged with aggravated assault while armed and possessing a firearm during each of the three crimes.
On April 23, a father and his five-year-old girl were walking out of an apartment building in Fort Totten after he has just got into an argument with Partlow.
Partlow followed the man and his daughter and shot at them multiple times. The man attempted to shield his child and was shot multiple times. The child was also shot as a result.
Investigators say Partlow knew the two victims prior to the shooting.
Partlow had remained wanted until he was found nearly a month after the shooting in Greensboro, North Carolina. He was then taken into custody and extradited back to the District.
