Man arrested for armed robbery of French bulldog

Mocha was found and reunited with its owner on Dec. 29.

WASHINGTON — A D.C. man was arrested for stealing a French bulldog, Mocha. The dog was later found and reunited with its owner.

Kyrie Holmes, 24, was arrested for armed robbery on Friday. 

On Dec. 22, shortly before 3 p.m., Mocha's owner met the suspect to sell her dog. Suspects approached the woman and took the dog from her. When she tried to take the dog back, one of the suspects brandished a handgun and threatened to shoot her. The owner called 911. 

This case remains under investigation. Anyone who has knowledge of this incident should take no action but call police at (202) 727-9099 or text your tip to the Department's TEXT TIP LINE at 50411. 

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $10,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for a violent crime committed in the District of Columbia.
