ORIGINAL STORY:

Police are asking for the public's help locating a dog that was stolen during a planned sale on Friday.

Shortly before 3 p.m., the owner listed the dog for sale online, and DC Police say the suspect contacted her to buy the dog – a French Bulldog named "Mocha."

The woman took the dog to the 3300 block of 14th Place, Southeast to make the transaction.

When she arrived with Mocha, suspects approached the woman and took the dog from her. When she tried to take the dog back, one of the suspects brandished a handgun and threatened to shoot her.

The victim left and called 911.
