Man fatally shot in Northeast, suspect arrested

When officers from the Metropolitan Police Department arrived, they found a man who had been shot. The man was identified as Jimmy Thomas, 46, of Northeast.

WASHINGTON — A man is being charged with murder following a shooting in Northeast, D.C.

On Friday, officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 1200 block of Mount Olivet Road. When officers from the Metropolitan Police Department arrived, they found a man who had been shot. 

The man was identified as Jimmy Thomas, 46, of Northeast. On Friday, officers announced the arrest of 27-year-old Damon Clark. Clark is being charged with Second Degree Murder while Armed.

Police have not released information regarding the events leading up to the shooting at this time.
