WASHINGTON — An investigation is underway in Northwest, D.C. after a Wegman's employee was robbed at gunpoint at a bus stop on the corner of Wisconsin Ave. and Ridge Square on New Year's Eve. Police have arrested a juvenile in connection to the robbery.

The victim has only been identified as an employee of the Wegman's grocery store nearby. Police say she walked back to the store after the robbery, where she got help and called 911.

On Sunday, Dec. 31, at 4:05 p.m., officers with the Metropolitan Police Department were called to the 41 Ridge Square, Northwest for a report of an armed robbery. Police say a victim, later identified as a Wegman's employee, was approached by two suspects armed with a gun who demanded property as she waited for the bus on the corner of Wisconsin Ave. and Ridge Square. Police say the suspects took property from the victim and then fled the scene. This is when the employee walked back to her employer and called for help from 911.

Roadside, the developer and property management team for the office and retail tenants at City Ridge, was contacted by the grocery store after the robbery for camera footage. Roadside officials say they worked with the police department to provide them the necessary footage to help them bring those responsible for the robbery into custody.

An official with Roadside tells WUSA9 that the stolen items have been retuned to the person robbed.
