WASHINGTON — A 14-year-old boy is under arrest for pointing a gun at someone and breaking their car window with it in Northeast, D.C.
On Sunday, April 7, just before 1 p.m., police say the 14-year-old boy and several people were riding in the same car when they got into an argument. The person driving the car parked on Morton Place in Northeast, and the suspect and another passenger got out as well as two other people.
Police say the 14-year-old boy then walked into a home and came back out holding a rifle. He reportedly pointed the rifle at one of the car passengers, while threatening them. The teen then allegedly broke the car window with the gun and pointed the weapon at the other people who were inside the car. Everyone ran away at this point.
Investigators later found the gun.
On Wednesday, the 14-year-old boy turned himself into police. He was arrested and charged with assault with a dangerous weapon, possession of a magazine, possession of unregistered ammunition, unlawfully getting rid of a firearm, threatening to injure or kidnap, and destruction of property.
