WASHINGTON — A 14-year-old boy has been charged with shooting another teenager in Southeast, D.C. after turning himself over to police on Sunday.
Police arrested and charged the 14-year-old boy with assault with intent to commit murder for shooting a 16-year-old boy on Alabama Avenue.
On April 26, just after 2:30 p.m., officers with the Metropolitan Police Department responded to a shooting near the intersection of Alabama Avenue and 15th Place, Southeast. Upon arrival, officers found a 16-year-old boy who had been shot. He was taken to an area hospital for treatment.
Nearly three weeks later, on Sunday, May 12, the 14-year-old boy turned himself in at his local police station, where he was arrested and charged for his alleged involvement in the shooting.
