Historic 'Reeves Farmhouse' set to transfer out of county hands

The future of the property could be determined at an Arlington County Board meeting on Monday.

ARLINGTON, Va. — The echoes of the Reeves Farmhouse’s past might soon blend with the promises of a more inclusive future.

After years of planning, the historic property known as Reevesland in Arlington County is set to transfer out of county hands.

On Monday, the Arlington County Board will deliberate the fate of this century-old farmhouse, potentially transferring it to Habitat for Humanity D.C. & Northern Virginia

If approved, the building — once a thriving dairy farm under the Reeves family — will be repurposed into a supportive home for adults with developmental disabilities.

Built around 1900 and maintained by the same family for three generations, the property could soon embark on a new mission, marking a significant shift in its storied legacy.

The county acquired the property in 2001 but it has remained vacant ever since then.
