Actor Wilmer Valderrama works with local businesses to support veterans, youth

ALEXANDRIA, Va. — A terrific partnership between local businesses and a well known actor for a community building workout is getting us uplifted.

Entrepreneur, television star, producer and singer Wilmer Valderrama teamed up with local businesses for the “Train for Transformation” event in Alexandria, Virginia, at the Trident Athletics Gym.

The event celebrated veterans as well as enhanced mental health for youth in detention. The main goal was to foster unity, strength and service through fitness.

"I want them to be inspired, I want individuals to come in and say, 'Hey, how much more can I do,' and for them to understand how obtainable it is to show up, and how simple it is, to not only just say something, but get involved," Valderrama said. "And I think that that's really where we hope this community starts talking to one another and expanding on what they can do, but most importantly what they can achieve together."

The "That 70's Show" and NCIS actor's business E.P.U., which stands for E Pluribus Unum, is a unisex clothing line that looks to bring military veterans closer together through active-wear, with a portion of the sales going to supporting service members and their families.
