Washington Nationals surprise patients, staff at Fairfax cancer center | Get Uplifted

Second baseman Darren Baker and catcher Drew Millas brought coffee and donuts for National Coffee Day.

FAIRFAX, Va. — We are getting uplifted by a home-team whose actions weren't shown this weekend.

This local squad is scoring a homerun and winning off the field by helping out a group of hard working health care workers.

The Washington Nationals brought smiles to nurses at the Inova Schar Cancer Institute. Ahead of National Coffee Day Sunday, the Nats, with the help of Dunkin, surprised the hard working nurses with coffee, donuts and Nationals tickets!

Nats second baseman Darren Baker and catcher Drew Millas were on hand to make the delivery and visit not only staff but also patients with treats and Nats swag.

“It’s very important to give back to the community as an athlete,” catcher Drew Millas said. “Just seeing the faces on some of these people tonight and today. It was great, made our day, definitely hope it made theirs.”
