Maryland construction worker wins big with a lotto ticket | Get Uplifted

Yesica Moya Jovel said she'll use the money to buy a house.

WHEATON-GLENMONT, Md. — As the holiday shopping season officially kicks into high gear, you may be dreaming of some extra money in your bank account. Here's a little inspiration for you!

First, in Michigan, a convenience store clerk's mistake led to a big payday for one customer. The shopper bought a lotto ticket at a gas station. He normally buys 10 tickets on his way home from his favorite restaurant. Instead of 10 tickets, the clerk gave him 10 chances on each ticket.

The mistake landed the 60-year-old man $25,000 a year for life!

Closer to home, a Montgomery County woman won big in the Maryland Lottery's Casino Royal Slots game. Yesica Moya Jovel bought a Fast Play ticket at a Wheaton Exxon on Georgia Avenue last week. The 27-year-old construction worker from Silver Spring is originally from El Salvador. She bought one $10 ticket, and had to call the store manager when the self check scanner kept coming up blank.

When she called the manager, she found out she won a whopping $136,056. Jovel said she is going to put the money toward buying a home.
