4 Maryland residents win $50K from Wednesday's Powerball Jackpot

Nearly 109,000 winning tickets were sold in Maryland from Wednesday’s drawing.

MARYLAND, USA — The second-largest Powerball jackpot winner was crowned Wednesday night in California. The jackpot prize was a jaw dropping $1.76 billion and will undoubtedly change the life of that lucky winner, forever.

While the grand prize winner is on the West Coast, some residents here in Maryland got lucky too. Not billion dollar lucky, but enough to make you want to use all your PTO for the rest year. 

Nearly 109,000 winning tickets were sold in Maryland from Wednesday’s drawing. Prizes ranged from $4-to-$50K. Four fortunate individuals walked away with $50,000 in the state.

The winning tickets were sold in different parts of Maryland. 

Locations included:

  • Giant #2318 at 10210 Mill Run Circle in Owings Mills
  • 7-Eleven #33247 at 3901 Pulaski Highway in Abingdon
  • Harris Teeter #409 at 227700 Sweet Shrub Drive in Clarksburg
  • Martins #6444 at 18726 North Pointe Drive in Hagerstown

The Powerball jackpot has been rolling since its last hit on July 19. As a result, sales skyrocketed between July 20 and October 11. 

Sales in Maryland surged between July 20 and October 11, totaling $58.5 million. Marylanders pocketed over $10.1 million in prizes from their tickets. Furthermore, during the rolls, 27 Powerball tickets sold in Maryland were worth at least $50,000. 

There were also two $1 million tickets sold in Maryland that still have not been claimed as of Thursday. But don’t fret, winners have six months from the day of the drawing to claim their prizes.
