Youth nonprofit tutors northern Virginia children for free | Get Uplifted

Since its founding in 2010, GIVE Youth has provided free tutoring and enrichment services in northern Virginia for some 8,000 students.

VIRGINIA, USA — Students helping other students succeed in the classroom and beyond are getting us uplifted.

The work is done through a high school student-run nonprofit called “Growth and Inspiration through Volunteering and Education,” or GIVE Youth.

Since its founding in 2010, GIVE has provided free tutoring and enrichment services in northern Virginia for some 8,000 students.

The teenaged executive directors of GIVE Youth with center managers and volunteers do the work — tutoring kids from kindergarten to eighth grade, all while empowering themselves to lead and inspire through their volunteerism.

GIVE Youth is keenly aware that tutoring can be expensive, so they offer their tutoring program at no cost to families. The teens also serve as mentors to younger kids as well as underprivileged children.

But GIVE Youth wants to reach more. To learn about their multiple programs in northern Virginia, check their Instagram page @give.youth.

We are inspired by this peer to peer effort to help students thrive in the classroom.

We want to share things that uplift you! If you have something you'd like to share, email us at GetUplifted@wusa9.com or contact Allison Seymour on X, Facebook and Instagram.
