WASHINGTON — A story about bringing together our young and older neighbors is helping us get uplifted!
Over the weekend, high school students from Washington International School helped teach senior citizens how to use technology. They visited Dupont Circle Village to answer questions about laptops, tablets and cellphones. Dupont Circle Village is a network of neighbors helping neighbors and supports what they call successful aging.
"We're living our lives and trying to keep up with this technology. Young people are helping us to figure it out," said Mike Silverstein with Dupont Circle Village. "It's really a wonderful way to bridge the gap between the generations."
The idea actually came from one of the senior's granddaughters. She decided to get a group of friends together for a workshop, and the rest is history.
