DC Fire and EMS surprise teenager with firehouse, firetruck tour | Get Uplifted

17-year-old Joshua builds Lego replicas of firehouses, so D.C. Fire and EMS invited him to see a real one.

WASHINGTON — We're getting uplifted by a local teen's creative imagination becoming reality.

17-year-old Joshua loves designing, building and constructing life-like Lego sets inspired by the various fire stations around the District.

Well, D.C. Fire and EMS heard about it and invited him to visit a real life firehouse.

During his tour, Joshua got to see all the equipment the firefighters use, the living spaces around the station, like the bunks and kitchen, and even got to ride in the front seat in a fire truck.

It's something he says he'll never, ever forget.

“One of the most surprising days,” Joshua said. “I never expected this. I just thought it would be a normal interview, I didn’t expect to get a tour of the firehouse or a ride. It is so impressive.”

Joshua says he just wants to keep building and inspiring people with his Lego sets.
