Awards celebrate nonprofits with .org websites | Get Uplifted

Emmy award winning actor Alan Cumming hosted the awards.

WASHINGTON — We're getting uplifted by an event that celebrates two things we need more of: love and compassion.

Last night, the nonprofit that operates the .org domain honored some of the top nonprofits from across the globe right here in D.C.

They call it the .Org Impact Awards.

From groups educating girls in Afghanistan to feeding families in Sudan, these organizations are truly inspiring.

And last night's host, Emmy winning actor Alan Cumming, was happy to help celebrate them.

“Gather our resources and help people less fortunate than ourselves,” Cumming said. “The more people that are out doing that, the luckier we are. And I think that's a real heartening thing about tonight, is to know how much good there is in the world.”

We offer a big thank you to the people everywhere using .org to do good.

We want to share things that uplift you! If you have something you'd like to share, email us at GetUplifted@wusa9.com or contact Allison Seymour on X, Facebook and Instagram.
