WASHINGTON — We're feeling uplifted thanks to an incredible achievement by some of our local school systems. Of the more than 4,500 eligible schools in the United States, 95 schools in the D.C. region were recognized for the prestigious 2023 Advanced Placement School Honor Roll.
This achievement highlights the schools' commitment to providing exceptional educational opportunities and preparing students for collage, a career and helping the community.
That number is incredible, but we want to highlight three local school districts that came out on top.
At Montgomery County Public Schools, 18 high schools have excelled in AP participation and successful course completion. In Fairfax County, 17 schools did the same. Sixteen schools in Loudoun County also topped the list.
Research has consistently shown that students participating in Advanced Placement courses and exams are more likely to attend college and graduate on time.
