Weather Impact Alert Sunday night for showers

WASHINGTON — Rain will move across the DMV for the second half of Sunday. 

What: Weather Impact Alert for showers and rain.

When: Sunday. A light sprinkle is possible at any time, with the bulk of the rain after 4 p.m.  Rain ends before 9 a.m. Monday. 

Impact: Light to moderate rain may move some outdoor plans indoors. Running errands and dog walks will be wet in the afternoon. No severe weather is forecast. The second half of the Commanders Game will see showers and your drive home will be wet.

Finally! We have rain in the forecast! Our record breaking streak of dry weather is coming to an end. You'll still be able to enjoy the first half of your Sunday mostly rain-free. Showers will start at 1 p.m. across the DMV. For the immediate D.C. Metro area, you likely won't notice the showers until 2 or 3 p.m. Expect steady rain across the entire area by 6 p.m.

Showers will be light and scattered to start. After 6 p.m., pockets of moderate rain will mix in. Severe weather is not in the forecast. Skies will slowly clear out after midnight.

\6:00 P.M. - 12:00 A.M. -  Cloudy.  Most areas will see light to moderate rain by 6 p.m. Rain will gradually move out after midnight and clear before 9 a.m. Monday.
