WASHINGTON — With temperatures reaching record highs, local authorities have been left with no choice but to cancel numerous outdoor activities on Monday.
According to recent weather reports, the ongoing heatwave poses significant health risks, prompting swift action to prevent heat-related illnesses and ensure public safety.
Cancellations in the DMV:
- Fairfax County Schools has cancelled all outdoor activities scheduled on fields and courts from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m.
- A Heat Warning has been issued for D.C. from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m.
- Howard County issued a Heat Alert through Wednesday, July 17 daily from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m.
