Thursday will be beautiful with mostly sunny skies and unseasonably warm temperatures. A few more clouds will start to increase Friday but we stay dry through the weekend.
Tropical Storm Francine made landfall 30 miles SSW of Morgan City, Louisiana as a category 2 hurricane at 6 p.m. with sustained winds of 100 mph.

While all of this sunshine is very nice, we could still use some rain. Moderate drought conditions persist across areas west of I-95.
We are already looking ahead to an area of low pressure that will develop off the coast of the Carolina's over the weekend. The storm looks to be well organized before moving onshore early next week. There is some indication that the storm could have tropical characteristics so we will be closely monitoring developments over the next several days.
This would be our next opportunity for beneficial rain chances arriving Monday evening and lasting through at least Wednesday morning.
