Will the remnants of Francine bring rain to the DMV?

The storm made landfall at 6:00 pm Wednesday in southern Louisiana as a category two with sustained winds of 100 mph.

WASHINGTON — Francine made landfall 30 miles SSW of Morgan City, Louisiana as a category 2 hurricane with sustained winds of 100 mph.

Francine will continue to bring residual storm surge to most of the Louisiana and Mississippi coastline into Thursday. Tropical storm force wind gusts will also continue through Thursday as the storm tracks north through Mississippi.

Francine will also continue to bring very heavy rainfall throughout the southeast into the weekend.

The storm will stay too far west to bring any rain to the DMV.

We remain rain free for the rest of the week and into this weekend.
