With the Women's World Cup kicking off Thursday at 3 a.m. and the Barbie movie coming to theaters Friday, there is a lot going on in the District this weekend.

WASHINGTON — Believe it or not, there are other things to do in D.C. this weekend other than Barbenheimer. From the Women's World Cup to... yes, the release of the "Barbie" movie, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

Get outside this weekend with one of several free and cheap events happening across the District.

Thursday, July 20:

Trivia at Metrobar, 640 Rhode Island Avenue, NE

  • Grab a friend to compete or head over alone to the bar on Rhode Island Avenue for a night of free trivia.

Capital Book Fest, 1300 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW 

  • D.C.'s outdoor, pop-up bookstore returns to Wilson Plaza from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.
  • Shop thousands of gently used books, CDs, DVDs and vinyl all on sale for $6 or less.

Friday, July 21:

District Comedy Show, 2013 14th Street, NW

  • Starting at 8:30 p.m., head to the DC Comedy Clubhouse for the District Comedy Show.

Yappy Hour with District Dogs, 640 Rhode Island Avenue, NE

  • It's a paw-ty! From 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., bring your furry friends over to Metrobar for some doogie beer, puppuccinos, treats, toys, belly rubs, and more.

Saturday, July 22:

La Placita DMV Puerto Rican Festival, 2700 Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue, SE

  • Get ready to celebrate Puerto Rican culture, food, music and art in the nation's capital on Saturday with La Placita DMV.
  • Attendees are encouraged to bring their own chairs and towels to sit on as this a full day event for the whole family.
  • Tickets start at $25 per person and will increase to $55 the day of the festival.

Silent Party DC at Hook Hall, 3400 Georgia Avenue, NW

  • From 9:30 p.m. until 2 a.m., head to Hook Hall for silent dance party.
  • Attendees will wear wireless headphones and have two music stations available to choose from: red channel - 90s babies and green channel - trap music.
