WASHINGTON — Let's be real, who wouldn't want to be Barbie?

This weekend you can live out those doll-sized dreams in real life as D.C. restaurants, bars, and more begin to transform into a world of pink and glitter in anticipation of the upcoming release of the new Barbie movie starring Margot Robbie.

As Barbie herself would say, "You can be anything." So go ahead and get out of your comfort zone by trying something new on our list.

P.S. Barbie will be in theatres on July 21. Don't forget to get your tickets. 

Friday, July 14:

Barbie's World Drag Show at Red Bear Brewing, 209 M Street, NE

Hosted by Evry Placer, the show kicks off at 9:15 p.m. with performances from Dax Exclamation Point, Rosie Beret, Crystal Edge and Theo Bromine.

Although the event is free to attend, don't forget cash so you can tip your dancers!

Saturday, July 15:

The Barbie Parties at Wunder Garten, 1101 First Street, NE

Anyone 21 years old and up is invited to put on their hottest pink outfit and head to Wunder Garten in Northeast D.C. for a variety of Barbie-themed activities.

Events include a Malibu Pool Party, Barbie-Q, Barbie Trivia and more.

The events are free, but attendees are encouraged to RSVP online ahead of time as capacity is limited.

D.C.'s Barbie Pond in Logan Circle, 1454 Q Street, NW

The artist behind the "Barbie Pond" on Avenue Q has released a trailer through their Instagram account @barbie_pond_ave_q teasing a new display in honor of the upcoming Barbie movie. 

The pond features a year-round, rotating cast of various Babies arranged around a fountain.

The offbeat attraction draws visitors from around the world.

Wednesday, July 19:

Barbie DIY Party, 760 C Street, SE

If you need to add some last-minute sparkles, feathers or bedazzles to your Barbie outfit ahead of the premiere, this is the event for you.

From 4 p.m. until 7 p.m., Relume is hosting a Barbie-themed craft party with a DIY outfit creation station, jewelry making and more.

Barbie Yappy Hour with District Dogs, 640 Rhode Island Avenue, NE

It's a paw-ty! Get ready for games, a dog costume contest, fun snacks and more as District Dogs hosts a Barbie-themed happy hour at Metrobar from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m.

Barbenheimer! At DC9 Nightclub, 1940 9th Street, NW

Hit the dance floor at DC9 Nightclub starting at 10 p.m. 

There will be drink and food specials for anyone dressed in costume to celebrate the doubleheader premiere of Barbie and Oppenheimer.

Grab your friends and embrace your inner Barbie at this Pretty in Pink Summer Bash.

Barbie Drag Brunch at City Tap Dupont, 1250 Connecticut Avenue, NW

Get ready for endless mimosas with some of the most fabulous queens in the District. 

Tickets to attend brunch are $38 per person and include an endless breakfast buffet. Bottomless mimosas are $18 per person.

Doors open at 11 a.m., with the show starting at 11:30 a.m.

Barbie Drag Brunch at Ciel Social Club, 601 K Street, NW

She's everything. He's just Ken. Join Ciel Social Club for a Barbie Drag Brunch hosted by KC B.

Doors open at 1 p.m., with the show kicking off at 2 p.m. 

Tickets are $35 per person and include the live show and a special Barbie welcome drink.
