GERMANTOWN, Md. — An autumnal tradition is back in Maryland, and it's worth the trip to Germantown to make it happen. Obviously pumpkins are a focal point of Butler's Orchard's Pumpkin Festival, but there is plenty more fall fun to be had.
Now in its 44th year, festival organizers have made a few updates to the festival in 2024. The fest kicks off Saturday and runs through Nov. 3, so you have plenty of time to plan your visit.
Tickets will cost you anywhere from $11 to $18 depending on when you go. Keep in mind, if you're looking to pick up a pumpkin while you're there, pumpkins are not included in the ticket price. Pumpkins are 75 cents per pound, and will be weighed for purchase.
Beyond the pumpkin patch, additional fall festivities include hayrides, live music on the weekends, a corn maze, petting zoo, corn hole and giant slides and a lot more.
If you're not interested in picking your own perfect pumpkin, the festival's pumpkin yard will off a variety of pre-picked pumpkins to buy. You'll also find more options at the festival market, along with other fall-flavored Butler Orchard goodies.
