PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, Md. — Grab your popcorn and put on your best red carpet attire because the Prince George’s County Film Festival is coming into town.

From September 25 to September 29, this festival is the hotspot for film enthusiasts, industry professionals and aspiring filmmakers alike. 

Here’s your backstage pass to everything happening at this year's festival:

  • Kick off your film festival journey on September 25 with a free community screening of “The Game That Changed College Basketball” at the Greenbelt Cinema. It’s the perfect way to dip your toes into the festival waters. Just remember, registration is required, so don't forget to click that link and grab your spot.
  • On September 26, the spotlight shifts to Prince George’s Community College’s Center for Performing Arts in Largo. Prepare for a night of glitz and glamour as the festival rolls out the red carpet for its opening night filming and reception. The evening kicks off with arrivals at 5:30 PM, followed by the grand premiere of “Albany Road” at 7:30 PM. Stick around for a talkback session with the film’s cast and crew, where you can soak up industry insights and mingle with the stars.
  • September 27 is all about diving deep into the world of filmmaking. Starting bright and early, Prince George’s Community College will host a day full of panel discussions and in-person film screenings. From 10:00 a.m. to 6:15 p.m., join discussions on everything from pitching techniques to the future of animation. Networking enthusiasts will also get their fill from 6:15 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at a reception, where you can make connections that could potentially launch your next big project.
  • On September 28, head over to Bowie State University’s Fine & Performing Arts Center for a full day of creative exploration. Whether you're interested in acting, animation, or the art of the pitch, there’s something for everyone. The day features engaging panels like “Soul in Motion” and “Funding Your Vision,” plus a special actors study session that promises to provide aspiring thespians with invaluable techniques and insider tips.
  • The festival wraps up on September 29 at the MGM National Harbor’s Grand Ballroom with a bang. Join the closing celebration brunch from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., featuring a conversation with actress Victoria Rowell, moderated by journalist Harriette Cole. Expect lively discussions, musical performances, and the awards presentation to close out this cinematic celebration in style.
