Roads closed due to water main break in Fairfax County

Fairfax Water says that no one has lost water service because of the break.

RESTON, Va. — There are a few road closures in Reston, Virginia after a reported 12-inch water main break early Tuesday morning.

Fairfax Water was notified of the water main break just after 5 a.m. The break has closed Fox Mill Road and Monroe Street due to emergency road work in the area.

Fairfax Water said that no one has lost water service because of the break.

Crews are at the scene of the break and are awaiting the arrival of Miss Utility to mark the roads so that work to repair the break can begin. Detours have been made available for drivers to avoid the impacted area and road closures.

There is no estimate on when roads will reopen or when the break will be fixed.
