MCLEAN, Va. — A post on Reddit is gaining a lot of traction after showing a driver hit two people crossing the road in McLean--both were in a crosswalk at the time.
The person who posted the video gave WUSA9 permission to share it, and said this should serve as a daily reminder for drivers to watch the road and check their surroundings. They also said they shared the video with police.
WUSA9 reached out to the Fairfax County Police Department for a response.
Investigators said the crash happened just after 4 p.m. on Wednesday in the 1600 block of Capital One Drive. The driver who hit the pedestrians stayed until officers arrived. One person hit was taken to an area hospital to be evaluated for injuries, while the other was treated at the location. Both pedestrians are expected to be ok.
The crash is under investigation.
