Motorcycle crash leaves man dead in Anne Arundel County

Police do not believe impairment was a factor in the crash

ANNAPOLIS, Md. — A 34-year-old Maryland man is dead following a crash on US 50 in Annapolis early Wednesday morning. Maryland State Police troopers are still working to learn the cause of the crash.

According to investigators, troopers were called to a crash involving a vehicle and a motorcycle on eastbound US 50 and Rowe Boulevard around 4:30 a.m. The motorcycle rider, identified as Andrew David Frye of Crownsville, Maryland, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Crash investigators believe that a 2019 Ford Fiesta struck Frye's 2000 Yamaha motorcycle while the Ford was making a lane change on US 50. The driver and sole occupant of the Ford, Horatio Fitzgerald Easton, 59, of Annapolis was hospitalized for treatment of injuries. The severity of those injuries is not known.

Troopers do not believe impairment was a factor in this crash. All eastbound lanes of US 50 were closed for several hours for the investigation. Lanes have since reopened.
