4 hurt in Montgomery County crash with school bus

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

SILVER SPRING, Md. — A crash between an SUV and a Montgomery County school bus has sent four people to the hospital, according to firefighters.

Crews responded to the intersection of Fenton Street and Philadelphia Avenue in Silver Spring for a crash around 7:30 a.m. Monday. No students were on board the bus at the time of the collision, but five adults were checked out at the scene of the crash. Firefighters said four people were taken to the hospital, but their injuries were not thought to be life-threatening.

The bus ended up crashing through the fence of a community garden, while the SUV landed in the median of the road.

Investigators are still working to learn what led to the collision. Additional details were not immediately available. As we learn more, we will update this story.
