WASHINGTON — No more waiting at the bus stop unnecessarily. Metro customers now have a new way to track performance and plan their travel with the addition of Metrobus date to MetroPulse, Metro's real-time performance tracking tool.
MetroPulse, launched last summer, gives customers real-time information on bus and train locations, frequency, schedule adherence, and service advisories.
"Metro is upholding its commitment to transparency and improving the customer experience with this new tool to track bus performance and help customers better plan their travel," said Metro General Manager and Chief Executive Officer Randy Clarke.
Officials say MetroPulse is a web application currently in beta form, and it adds to other performance tracking tools available at wmata.com, including quarterly reports and scorecards detailing on-time performance and customer satisfaction.
How Metrobus performs is impacted by many factors, including traffic, boarding time, and weather, officials say. In the first quarter of Metro’s 2024 Fiscal Year, Metrobus customer satisfaction was 75% and on-time performance stood at 77%, exceeding targets for both performance metrics.
Metro is working to add additional features to MetroPulse, including performance tracking for MetroAccess, a reporting tool for customers to provide feedback and report service issues in real time, and the launch of an app for mobile devices.
