Dump truck driver dies in crash on I-95 in Prince George's County

Police are still investigating what led up to the crash.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, Md. — One person is dead after a crash in Prince George's County. Drivers should expect delays on Interstate 95 in the Laurel area Tuesday morning. A crash involving a dump truck blocked northbound lanes for a short time. Northbound shoulder lanes remain blocked. 

The crash was first reported around 9:30 a.m. on northbound I-95 just past MD-198 in the area of Brooklyn Bridge Road. Police say the crash involved one vehicle. Prince George's County firefighters said the vehicle involved was a dump truck. The driver, 37-year-old Oscar Ramos, Jr., was pronounced dead at the scene. He is from Mount Rainier, Maryland.

Maryland State Police traffic investigators are still working to determine the cause of the crash. Traffic is getting by the crash scene, but those in the area should follow police direction.
