Driver hurt after crash with school bus in Anne Arundel County

The three students on the bus at the time were not injured.

MARYLAND CITY, Md. — Anne Arundel County Police are investigating the cause of a crash involving a school bus Monday morning. 

Officers responded to Maryland Route 198 and Central Avenue for the report of a crash around 7:15 a.m. That's near the Patuxent Research Refuge. Once on scene, police found a sedan had collided with the bus. Police say the driver of the sedan was taken to the hospital for treatment of their injuries. The severity of those injuries is not known at this time.

The bus was headed to Maryland City Elementary School, according to a spokesperson for Anne Arundel County Schools. Three students were on board at the time of the crash. No students were hurt. The bus driver was also uninjured. 

The crash investigation closed both Route 198 in both directions, but the westbound lanes have since reopened.
