PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, Md. — A man is dead after he was hit by a driver in Prince George's County early Tuesday morning. Police are still investigating what led up to the crash.
Prince George's County Police traffic investigators say the crash happened at around 3 a.m. in the 5000 block of Branch Avenue right after the Capital Beltway. When officers got to the scene, the found a man in the road. The man, who has not been identified by police, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators were on scene early Tuesday working to determine the cause of the crash. Police say the driver of the striking vehicle remained on scene. No arrests have been made in connection to this case.
Lanes were blocked for the investigation, causing some early-morning traffic backups, but all lanes were back open by 6 a.m., according to traffic officials.
