5 hurt in Clara Barton Parkway crash

The cause of the crash is still under investigation by United States Park Police.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. — Five people are recovering in the hospital after a three-vehicle crash on Clara Barton Parkway early Wednesday morning. United States Park Police are investigating exactly what happened. 

Park Police officers were called to Clara Barton Parkway in the area of Lock 6 just after midnight. When they got to the scene, they found a crash involving three vehicles. Police and firefighters responded. In total, five people were hospitalized with injuries said to be non-life-threatening. Investigators have not provided any additional information on those involved in the collision. 

Eastbound lanes of the parkway were briefly closed for the crash investigation, but have since reopened. 

The investigation remains active and ongoing. Anyone who may have information to help officers is asked to contact Park Police at 202-379-4877.

Additional details were not immediately available.
