WSSC Water lifts Camp Springs water restrictions

Crews have completed work in the area as of Thursday morning.

CAMP SPRINGS, Md. — Residents living in the Camp Springs area of Prince George's County no longer have to limit their water use after days of restrictions for the area.

Crews successfully completed work to connect an existing water main to the main that feeds the Camp Springs tank ahead of schedule. The result of this connection was an increase in the water level in the tank above the point where the utility can safely lift the essential water use only request.

WSSC Water thanked residents for their conservation efforts as crews worked to connect another water main to the main that feeds the tank, avoiding the issuance of a Boil Water Advisory.

The company says residents might experienced discolored water following the work. If this happens, take the following steps:

  •  Run all COLD water taps for about five minutes or until the water runs clear.
  • Once the water runs clear, usually in five minutes or less, turn off your faucets in the same order, lowest to highest.
  • You should also flush your refrigerator's water lines.

If customers in this area are experiencing low pressure or no water, please call our Emergency Services Center at 301-206-4002.
